Spotting the picture that isn't like the others works on visual discrimination: noticing a difference in category, shape or colour. On the hard level, the odd one out is the same picture mirrored. This work on orientation is close to what helps children tell apart letters such as b and d.

Tips

  • Ask your child to explain what makes the picture different.
  • Speed doesn't count in this game: take time to look carefully.
  • Suggest the hard level once the medium level feels easy.
